Junior / Intermediate Microsoft Programmer
We currently have a Victoria-based opening for a junior / intermediate Microsoft
programmer to work on application development projects for both public and private
sector clients. The role typically involves working as part of a team that interacts
with customers to design, develop, test, and support programs for web-enabled
applications, websites, database systems, and client-server applications.
Mandatory Qualifications:
The following skills and capabilities would be necessary to achieve success in the position:
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science from a post-secondary institution
- Minimum of 1 year experience with Microsoft ASP & Visual Basic programming
- Relational database experience for data modeling, application design and development (MS SQL Server 2000)
- Solid understanding of both object oriented & structure programming concepts and methods
Desirable Qualifications:
The following skills and capabilities would be considered advantageous in the position:
- Java programming in a J2EE environment and relational database experience for data modeling and
application design and development (Oracle RDBMS 8i, 9i, 10g)
- Experience with C programming, Perl, Windows NT/2000/XP and Linux platforms
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team based environment with both partners and clients
- Familiar with requirements analysis and functional specifications design approaches
